The Montecarlo Hotel, founded in 1957 by brothers Carlo and Gino Iacuitto, has a beautiful family history that for 62 years has distinguished itself in the Roman hotel landscape for its quality of services. And if you are lucky enough as I was to meet Mr Carlo, he will tell you himself.
When I arrived at the Hotel, the first thing I noticed was its strategic location, both for those who come to Rome for pleasure and for those who come for work. The Montecarlo Hotel is a historic hotel in the capital. It is located in Via Palestro between Termini Station and the center city, and it allows you to easily reach the most beautiful archaeological sites in Rome, such as the Diocletian Baths as well as museums, villas and parks among the most evocative neighborhoods of Rome. Furthermore, its location close to the Embassies, Public Institutions and La Sapienza University offers, to those who come for work, the convenience of moving quickly and easily.
The first thing I asked for, being the good Italian that I am, was a good coffee, which did not disappoint my expectations. The staff is very helpful and kind. At the Hotel Montecarlo welcoming the customers is very important and all the staff is prepared to respond to all guests’ needs, to make their stay as pleasant as possible.
With Silvia Iacuitto the daughter of Carlo I got to visit the hotel and actually every room is different in style and size, but all are furnished with comfort. I personally love the ones with the terrace and the slightly retro style, with the vaguely French blue fabric on the walls.
Six floors with elevator and an antique staircase in beautiful wrought iron, up to the terrace, on the seventh floor. Here is where, in the warm season, the buffet breakfast is served. You have a view over the whole of Rome. In the evening, instead, excellent aperitifs are served, not only for hotel guests.
The Montecarlo Hotel is planning to open a restaurant too and is looking for a pastry chef for breakfasts that are rich and assorted between sweet and savory.
